Ellen Slater, Registered Dental Hygienist
I am a graduate of Forsyth School for Dental Hygienists, in Boston, and have been practicing dental hygiene for more than 30 years. My professional experiences include staff dental hygienists at Harvard School of Dental Medicine, and private practices in Periodontics and in General Dentistry.
Since moving to California in 1994 I have developed the Soft Tissue Management Program at Pacific Dental Care and Fastbraces®. This program prevents and treats periodontal disease in order to protect total health. I customize my patient’s care to address their individual needs. When not working I enjoy spending time outdoors with my family and friends. You can usually find me riding a bike, running, or working out. Total health is my commitment to myself and my family of patients.
Florentina Avram, Registered Dental Hygienist
I have been practicing hygiene since 2010 after I graduated from Carrington College, Dental Hygiene Program in Sacramento. I am very passionate about my profession, and my success is based on four principles when I treat my patients: knowledge, attitude, value, and motivation.
My favorite part of working in this office is developing relationships with the patients and providing very high quality dental care. It is my priority to create a joyful, positive dental experience each and every visit! My patients will have all the information, education, and encouragement needed to maintain a healthy smile.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my son and my daughter doing fun activities, skiing, running and traveling.
Sean Vanderbilt, Registered Dental Hygienist
I hold a bachelor’s degree in Biology from UCLA, an associate degree in Dental Assisting and an associate degree in Dental Hygiene from Foothill College. While in school I was honored for my patient recruitment ability and community service work with two leadership awards, from Foothill College and the Peninsula Dental Hygienists’ Association. Since graduating from dental hygiene school I have taught as a dental hygiene instructor and given lectures at Foothill College, UCSF Dental School and Stanford Medical School. I have worked in the dental field for over 7 years as both a dental assistant and a dental hygienist.
I am passionate about patient education, helping people understand the direct connection between oral health, systemic health and how the proper treatment can prevent serious dental and medical consequences. In my spare time, I love to volunteer and feel it is my responsibility to give back to the community. I have spent the last 14 years volunteering for homeless shelters, Boys & Girls clubs, veteran’s programs, environmental projects, nursing homes and dental clinics. These experiences have changed and enriched me as a person and given me more than I could ever hope to give back.
Diep Khong, Treatment Coordinator
My job today in the field of dentistry is due to profound childhood experiences. As a child, I was never aware that I should visit a dentist regularly, nor was it on my family’s priority list. I only went when I had a toothache; thus I developed a fear of the dentist. It was not until I grew older that I began to educate myself about proper dental health and regular dental visits. As a result, both my fear of the dentist and toothaches disappeared.
I have been in the dental field since high school and have a total of 15 years of experience as a treatment coordinator. After I graduated from UCSB I still returned to the field of dentistry because I am passionate about promoting dental health. My job as a treatment coordinator is most rewarding when I am able to see patients, who were once fearful, become happy. The positive results of their treatment allow them to continue visiting their dentist on a regular basis and maintain proper dental and overall health. In my “spare” time I enjoy spending time with my husband and our beautiful daughter. I look forward to educating her on the importance of dental health.
Pam Lingenfelder, Registered Dental Assistant
I have been a Registered Dental Assistant for 17 years and with Pacific Dental Care and Fastbraces® since 2000. I enjoy working with our patients and making them feel comfortable. I look forward to every patient achieving the best oral health possible and with my years of experience to draw upon, I can help them achieve their goals. When away from the office I enjoy spending time with my family. I love sports of all kind and am an A’s fan and a Raiders’ fan. I know, I know.
Karina Rosas, Dental Assistant
I have been working at Pacific Dental Care and Fastbraces® for over 6 years, I been in the dental field for over 8 years. I like what I do, I like the high technology that we use here in our office, and we are up to date with digital x-rays, dental charts in the computer, cerec machine (in office crowns). I love doing whitening procedures because of the reaction of the patient after its done its so amazing and they are pleased with it.
A little something about my self: I have a beautiful daughter she is three years old, she loves doing ballet, swimming, and going to pre-school. So my free time I give it all to my daughter.
Brooke Bindi, Dental Assistant
I have been working in the dental field for three and a half years as a dental assistant. I immediately came to Pacific Dental Care and Fastbraces® following my professional training and it has been my home since that time. I love working in the dental field because it allows me to work with people and help them with their dental needs to create beautiful smiles.
